Why it is in the kits

Local Lab protects the three forms a bot finds first with reCAPTCHA v2, the "I am not a robot" checkbox, checked on the server against Google. The contact form also has a honeypot field, which catches the dumb bots before Google is asked at all.

It is optional and free. With no site key the box is not drawn; with no secret key the check passes everything, so a half-configured install can never lock its owner out.

Worth knowing#

  • The quote and lead request forms are not behind it. They are rate limited instead.

  • Launch Lab uses Cloudflare Turnstile for the same job, with no puzzle and no cookie banner.
